Harold Offeh will kick start GWTP in the Gallery with a lively introductory presentation looking at approaches to TV in artistic practice showing clips from television shows and his own work.
A programme will follow with artist-led sessions and events (via Fashion/ Dance/ Media/ Performance/ Words/ Activism/ Hip-Hop/ Africa/ Diaspora) that give voice to ideas about community, identity, place and ownership, communicated through familiar TV formats and media processes.

Harold Offeh will lead sessions on Saturdays 24/31 October & 7 November looking at Game Shows.
Further artist and designer-led activities will take place every Saturday, including the Big Draw.

ABOUT Get with the Programme : IP(switch)T.V.
Get with the Programme : IP(switch)T.V. begins a new 3-year research-led project, for, but not about, set up by THG to develop connections with the diverse community of young people in Ipswich while building lasting collaborative relations with artists and organisations in the UK and beyond.
Working with artist Harold Offeh the gallery will be transformed into a temporary DIY television studio. An interactive space for the pre-production, production, and airing of accumulated content and material. And forum for engaging in mutual idea and skill sharing from which to initiate the phases that follow.
The exhibition will grow from a skeleton programme of durational work, artist-led participatory activity and events - drawing, sculpture, fashion, film, dance, drama performance - providing young people with practical opportunity to produce and contribute content and material while exploring spectacle, stereotypes, clichés as well as pertinent issues. Further event proposals are invited from the local audience (young and old) to evolve more spontaneous programming around their interests and desires. Exploring and giving voice to ideas about community, identity, time, place and ownership through popular TV formats, media interventions and associated visual practices and processes.
Updated content and documentary evidence of the programme will be screened in the space and hosted on-line as the show progresses. Physical artworks will also accumulate in the space over the weeks.
